Brian Woik brings his high level of energy and perfection to every Altered
State show. With his charismatic and in your face front man style, musical
energy drips out of every pore and deposits itself into your brain. You will
always recognize Brian at the shows as the man in the leather pants!!!
Brian hails from Mayville, WI and started his musical journey back in high
school with a band called Cambridge Rowe. Brian took a long hiatus from
music before the itch struck him and he joined a band called Clauson,
featuring guitarist Shawn Clauson, now the lead guitarist of Kindred Soul
out of Fond Du Lac, WI.
Brian next helped form the band Vertigo based out of Oshkosh, WI and
after a couple of successful years Vertigo dissolved. Brian then started
another band called Prowler. After plenty of shows they decided to evolve
the project into something more ellaborate. That's when Brian, Ryan
Howell - guitar, and Tom Bonlender - drums, (all of whom where in
Prowler) got together and formed Altered State. They then added guitarist
Nathan Kane & bassist Dave Hackney to complete the line-up. Altered
State has blown the doors off venues all over southeastern Wisconsin
ever since.
Altered State has once again evolved into a new machine with Ryan
Howell, Tom Bonlender and Nathan Kane leaving to pursue other musical
avenues. Guitarists Zach Zylka and Ryan Heffner & Drummer Jim Aron
have stepped in to take Altered State to a whole new level. You can be
sure that Altered State will be blowing the doors off plenty of venues in
the near future and beyond.
